Vignettes for Austria can be purchased at gas stations, post offices, online, and at some border crossings. They are required for using the Austrian autobahn and expressway network. Vignettes are available in different durations, such as 10 days, 2 months, or 1 year, and must be displayed on the windshield of the vehicle. **

If you are driving in Europe, you may need to purchase tolls and vignettes for certain countries. For example, in France, you will need to pay tolls on major highways, so it is recommended to buy a toll tag or use a credit card for payment. In Switzerland, you will need to purchase a vignette for driving on highways, which can be bought at gas stations, post offices, or online. It is important to research the specific requirements for each country you will be driving through and purchase the necessary tolls and vignettes in advance to avoid any fines or penalties. **

No, two 10-day vignettes for Austria cannot be used simultaneously. Each vignette is valid for a specific period of time and can only be used for that duration. If you need to use the vignette for more than 10 days, you would need to purchase a new one once the current one expires. **

The adhesive and digital vignettes on Austria's highways are checked through a combination of physical inspections by authorities and automated electronic systems. Authorities conduct spot checks and patrols to ensure that vehicles have valid vignettes displayed. Additionally, there are electronic tolling systems in place that can automatically detect vehicles without valid vignettes as they pass through tolling points. This multi-faceted approach helps to ensure compliance with the vignette requirements on Austria's highways. **

You can buy vignettes at border crossings, gas stations, post offices, and online. The number of vignettes you need depends on the country you are traveling in and the duration of your stay. For example, in Switzerland, you need to purchase a vignette for driving on highways, and it is valid for one calendar year. In Austria, you need to purchase a vignette for driving on highways, and it is available in 10-day, 2-month, and 1-year options. It's important to check the specific requirements for each country you plan to visit. **

In addition to ADAC, you can also purchase tolls or vignettes for Austria at gas stations, post offices, and some border crossings in Germany. Many gas stations along the border with Austria will sell the vignettes, and some larger post offices may also have them available for purchase. It's always a good idea to check with the specific gas station or post office beforehand to ensure they have the vignettes in stock. **

The choice between a hotel and a guesthouse depends on the individual's preferences and needs. Hotels generally offer more amenities and services, such as room service, concierge, and on-site restaurants, but they can be more expensive. On the other hand, guesthouses are often smaller, more intimate, and provide a more personalized experience. They are usually more budget-friendly and offer a chance to interact with the local community. Ultimately, the decision between a hotel and a guesthouse comes down to the traveler's priorities and budget. **

I recommend using a popular travel website or app such as Booking.com, Airbnb, or Expedia to search for a guesthouse. You can input your desired location, dates, and any specific preferences such as price range, amenities, and guest ratings. These platforms provide a wide range of options and allow you to read reviews and see photos of the guesthouses before making a reservation. Additionally, you can use filters to narrow down your search based on your specific needs and preferences. **
